Some recipes don't need a famous origin story to be legendary. Sometimes they just need to be made right, by hand, for long enough that they become part of a town.

That's the Warner's Long John.

A recipe nobody can quite date.

We've always used the Warner's recipe. Whether it came from Ellsworth Warner himself back in 1949, or from somewhere before that, honestly? We're not sure. And there's something kind of perfect about that. Some things have just always been here.

What we do know is that the Long Johns have been a Warner's favorite for generations. They're one of the most popular things we make — and if we happen to sell out, we hear about it. (Our regulars are not shy.)

"Some things have just always been here."

Made completely by hand.

Here's the part most people don't know: every single Long John is made completely by hand by Hilary's husband, Dustin. From mixing and rolling the dough to frying and finishing them, they're still made the old-fashioned way — the same way they've been made for decades. No shortcuts. No machines doing the work. Just hands, dough, and the kind of care you can taste.

Made by hand, every morning

Every Warner's Long John is mixed, rolled, fried, and finished by hand by Dustin — no machines, no shortcuts. The recipe's exact origin is lost to time, but the care behind it never has been.

In a world of mass-produced pastries, a hand-made Long John from a recipe nobody can quite date is a small, delicious act of stubbornness. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Come get one before they sell out. You've been warned.

Come in early — they go fast.

Baked fresh every morning. 115 N. Franklin St., Titusville. Open Monday–Saturday.
